Every now and then I get approached by branded foods to do a recipe or showcase their products. I am actually quite picky about the ones I agree to as I don’t want to compromise my principles about easy cooking and using low cost and simple ingredients.
So when I was approached by Schwartz to do a recipe – it was very easy to accept. The remit was quite wide – just creating a recipe using their ingredients. I was delighted to showcase how a simple recipe can be enhanced with the use of a couple of extra ingredients from Schwartz. After all where would we be with our cooking without all those herbs and spices to choose from to make meals extra delicious!
Chickpea And Potato Curry
I chose to do a chickpea and potato curry as one of my favourite, tasty and easy recipes. My kids always enjoyed it too! I used Schwartz Biriyani spice mix because it makes it easy to produce a wonderful curry without worrying about the exact quantity of each spice. I enhance it a little with some extra cumin and also some garlic also both from Schwartz.
The main ingredients of chick peas, potatoes, pepper, onion and coconut milk are basic store cupboard items. Made amazing with the addition of the special spices. This meal can be made in just over 30 minutes. Ideal for a Friday night curry or a midweek supper treat!
