Salad Dressing – A Little Luxury

Salad leaves are wonderful on their own, but a little salad dressing livens them up and you will eat so much more of the this health giving food.

Its so easy to make your own from some basic ingredients. All you need is some extra virgin olive oil and some vinegars. Balsamic vinegar is very popular, but you can also use white wine vinegar and cider vinegar.

Keep glass jars when the contents are finished as they are useful for keeping salad dressings, and other homemade jams and chutneys.

This is a salad dressing recipe using balsamic vinegar, but don’t stop there! Mix and match according to your taste using different vinegars and adding herbs, garlic and mustard to suit your tastes. If you make just a small quantity at a time, you can soon make some more, adjusting the proportion of ingredients.

Don’t forget to label your jar with the ingredients and the date it was made.

Balsamic Salad Dressing

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoon olive oil

Optional
1 crushed garlic clove
1/2 teaspoon dried herbs
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

Simply put the ingredients in a jar, put the lid on and shake
Shake each time before serving
