Penny’s Recipes In Top Food Blog Listings
I may be blowing my own trumpet here but I just wanted to mention that Penny’s Recipes is getting noticed! I am delighted to be listed on some websites in their ‘Top Food Blog’ listings.
Vouchercodes.co.uk
Excitingly, the latest listing was from Vouchercodes.co.uk. I have often used this website to find discounts for restaurants I am visiting, or for discounts in entry fees into visitor attractions for days out. It’s also good to check for vouchers for main stores such as Marks and Spencers and you can see what general reductions they are offering there too. You can make sure you never pay more than you have to!
They recently wrote an article on Top 5 Food Blogs and Penny’s Recipes was one of their favourites!. They recognise the recipes are low cost and called me the ‘Queen of cooking for families on a low budget”! I am chuffed!
You can view the post for yourself here and see what other blogs were chosen. You could even leave a comment to declare your favourite blog or favourite recipe.
And if you haven’t already, it’s a good idea to sign up for their regular bulletin full of vouchers and offers that comes to you by email.
RedOnline
I was very pleased to be picked out by Red magazine in their online version of their publication in the Top Blogs For Food on a Budget. Red is a quality and respected women’s magazine with articles on recipes and food as well as fashion and lifestyle.
The write-up identified that at times my blog deals with cooking for both vegetarians and carnivores in the same meal – something I could still write a lot more about – to share my experience- and perhaps encourage others to share their ideas and thoughts too. I think it is a challenge in many families now and it’s hard work cooking two meals every night so it is great to have a basic meal where one contains meat and the other perhaps lentils or beans. They also emphasise that my recipes are ideas that can be adapted. Of course you can follow them exactly but its also fine to substitute and try variations.
NetMums Loves Food Blogs
You will probably know that Netmums is a phenomenally successful website and a great resource for parents where they can find out information and discuss and share the ups an downs of everyday parenting. Clearly food and meal times is an important part of that, and its wonderful that people can now pool their wisdom and experience and help to make each others lives a little easier
Netmums have recently started a bloggers section, which of course includes food Blogs. I am delighted to be included here too.
Penny’s Recipes has also popped up in some discussion forums and has even been recommended by some readers for good low cost and easy recipes
Best of the Rest
Other lovely websites that link to Penny’s Recipes are Morrisons – recognising some budget food blogs when they launched their new M Savers money saving range. The burger and chips recipe is a consistently popular recipe on my website.
I have also from time to time been cited by readers discussing food on a budget on Money Saving Expert for which I actually feel quite humbled as this is a truly mighty website.
Thank you
I would also like to say a big thank you to all people who stop to read my recipes, share recipes and take the trouble to comment on the ones that they read or cook. This project started out as a record of cooking for a family and has grown into what I hope is a useful resource for people – and it will keep on growing.
Next Steps
I have recently written my first EBook – a collection on of my recipes which I hope people will find useful. There will be more Ebooks in the future and I am open as to what subjects readers would like covered.
People often make suggestions as to what I might do next and I am starting to work on a ‘Free From’ section, led by a lady who knows all about it as she has a family of five children with differing food in tolerances. This will start as hints and tips, as well as recipes and should end up in an EBook
If you enjoy my blog, please do comment on the recipes and tell me what you like. Share your recipes and knowledge. And keep on cooking!
