In the US March is recognised as National Nutrition Month. After Lockdown and a cold winter it is a good time to start thinking about diets, especially as Spring and summer months are beckoning – with hopefully more opportunities to go our and about

January is often the traditional month to begin healthy eating plans but it is often the worst month to try. With short, cold days and less inclination to g out doors it is comfort food many are seeking so it is all the harder to try to eat healthily

Plan Your Meals

Planning your meals – and possibly more importantly, planning your shopping is key to keeping on track. If you plan a whole week in advance and then check your cupboards for ingredients before writing your shopping list. Avoids food waste too! So what ever type of healthy eating plan your are on – this is the start.

Plan Your Snacks

If you normally enjoy some snacks – plan some healthy snacks that fit in with your overall plan – and may be the odd treat too. You are more likely to stick to your plan if some slack is allowed every now and then. This could be healthy snacks like nuts, seeds or fruit. And there could be a treat such as cake or ice cream at the end of the week!

Try A New Recipe Each Week

Why not try just one recipe every week, either from your cookbook or online resources? This will grow your family recipes and provide good meal rotation to keep the entire family looking forward to every meal. If you and your family enjoy recipes with flavorful Mediterranean twists, here’s how to make fried calamari at home and get your family excited once more.

Don’t skip breakfast

Eating breakfast isn’t an option but a must-have. How often have you missed breakfast to beat the morning rush? Eating a good breakfast is essential to consuming fewer calories throughout the day. If you want to check your overeating habit, then having breakfast every morning is essential.

Eat Slowly

Although we’re currently living a fast-paced life, give yourself time to savor your food when eating, whether it’s a meal or snack. Eating slowly may save you more calories since you may feel full faster compared to eating quickly. Ensure to drop your fork, spoon, and plate after every bite to give you extra time to chew your food. If you struggle with overeating, consider getting a smaller plate for your meals. If you have less space, you likewise have to get picky about what you really want.

It’s essential to eat your way to ideal health; everybody values good health and well-being. Always keep in mind that there’s no one exact lifestyle or diet that’s appropriate for everyone. This is why it’s imperative to find a good eating plan loaded with tasty nutrition best suited for your lifestyle.
